Fes and Casa

A medina taxi in Fes

Fabric spun on the loom

I've uploaded some pictures of Fes and Casablanca to the Picasa Webalbums. It rained for a week in Fes, but now it is hot in Casa. Tomorrow we will go to Marakech.

We're trying to remember some French, but we're lost when it comes to Moroccan Arabic! But, its just another language, it might not be as hard as Basque!

New colors for the blog. What do you all think?

Wow! It's orange and white! Go Big Orange! When you return, Phil will not longer be with us and the Vols will be looking for a new head coach. I guess that National Championship was too long ago for anyone to remember.

Are those dates in photo 7? Were they as yummy as the dates we had in Seattle?

I like the needlework in photo 22, the textiles in photo 23, the dye vats in photos 24-26, the leather shoes in photo 36, and the rugs in photos 37-38. Did you take those photos for me?

Those donkeys seem very friendly. I wasn't aware that donkeys were nice.

Yes those are dates, we didn't get any though. Maybe next time (they had flies on them).

I'm glad you like the pics. The medina was a good place to photograph.

The donkeys were quite tame, although some had muzzles (made of plastic coffee jars) on. We assume they had bitten someone! All the ones we saw were docile at the moment.
